I paid $510.00 to replace a water heater that was under warranty.

According to the online estimates, the model they installed costs between 750 and 1100 dollars. It is a Bradford White U1-40T6FRN, which is fine. But then, the contractor came up with an estimate of our out-of-pocket payment which broke down as follows:

service fee (60),

earthquake straps (90),

ventilation (80),

gas *** (90)

and haul away (90).

If this is not a rip-off then what is? I think they are trying to make up for their costs which leaves me short of $500.00. Not sure I will renewing my home warranty contract with them for the coming year.
